@barefootinthenorthWELL, HELLO THERE!
My name is Celine-- Im sure you've come to that conclusion by now!
Born and raised in a small town on the outskirts of Canada's Capital-Ottawa...surrounded by the vast beauty of miles and miles of well... cornfields- along with my 11 siblings...I guess you could say I developed a pretty fabulous sense of humour among many other qualities over the years. There were a lot of " laugh or cry " moments growing up- which mostly ended up being tears of laughter.
I first picked up a camera when I was 13 years old.. I got a little fuji film camera for Christmas and fiddled away with it for years, teaching myself the importance of lighting especially. Eventually upgrading to a " dsrl " Canon Rebel xsi- I then taught myself how to shoot in Manual mode apposed to Auto.
Through out the years my passion only grew. I loved being able to capture something the way I wanted to ( having learned how to do that ) .. and making my poor siblings suffer through countless hours of photoshoots -- after having my two boys I decided to make the jump and REALLY upgrade to professional, top of the line equipment and I haven't looked back since.
Photography for me is an artistic outlet, half my family received the gift / talent of drawing and painting... which I will say went WAY over me...however, I've learned to use my camera as a paintbrush so to speak... and subjects as my canvas. From start to finish... helping with choosing the perfect location/setting for the vibes you're wanting to helping you decide on outfits etc- all of these factors are very important to creating the perfect photo.
I am super easy going, I LOVE to meet new people and get an insight of who they are. Im quite good at reading people for the most part.- Being a photographer, this is a vital key - whether its a family session and there's tension because you just had a disagreement over whose supposed to wear what or if it's your wedding day and you're overwhelmed and you need a minute to recoup.. or an engagement session and you're super nervous -- I control the atmosphere and its my job to make sure that things go smoothly- because however you're feeling in that moment will be portrayed in your photos.
CHOOSE YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER CAREFULLY AND BE PICKY!!
- You will end up spending pretty much your entire day with your photographer! YAY- Im pretty cool. ( come hang with me )
- You'll want to vibe with them...otherwise it makes for a pretty awkward 8-10 hours.
- As stated above, your photographer pretty much has the capability to control the atmosphere for your wedding day...so choose someone who understands what kind of day/ atmosphere you're wanting to create- and they can help achieve that.
- When it comes to your budget, I always tell people- photos are the one thing you get to take away with you after, and hang on the walls all over your home. They are WORTH investing in, cut something out of your budget somewhere else to make it happen!
